“Mental strength is not the ability to stay out of the darkness; It’s the ability to sit present in the darkness knowing that the light will shine again.” Stephanie Langan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Connecticut. Stephanie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Quinnipiac University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. Stephanie has worked in various treatment settings, including an intensive in-home program and an outpatient clinic. Stephanie has worked primarily with children from ages 4 to 17, families, parents, and young adults presenting with a variety of conditions from anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, and OCD. Stephanie stresses the importance of developing a positive therapeutic relationship at the beginning of treatment in order to create a safe environment to foster positive change. Stephanie primarily uses evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Stephanie also has experience utilizing play therapy with young children. Stephanie will work to develop an understanding of the main problem and your concerns in order to collaboratively develop an individualized treatment plan including realistic goals and action steps that will focus on your strengths.
