You are welcome here. I believe in the power of a collaborative relationship in therapy. In our work together, you can expect a warm, respectful, and empathetic approach tailored to your individual experiences. My practice is built on the belief that every person possesses within themselves the capacity for creative growth, change, and healing. I am committed to guiding and supporting you on your journey towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
I use a psychodynamic, integrative therapeutic approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy. In recent years, I have provided treatment for adolescents and young adults struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, and oppositional behaviors—alongside their families—as a Multi-Dimensional Family Therapist. My emphasis in treatment is on building skills such as empathy and active listening, helping individuals learn to truly hear one another and remain curious about each other’s perspectives. I am also passionate about helping parents understand how their own underlying trauma may affect their relationships with their children. My family work effectively strengthens existing connections between parents and children while creating new ones. In addition to family therapy, I welcome couples and individuals (ages five and up), and I am passionate about working with the LGBTQAI+ community.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working as a professional opera singer and creating music workshops. I later decided to expand my knowledge by earning a Master of Arts in Women’s and Gender Studies and a Master of Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. In addition to working as a Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy clinician with Wheeler Clinic, my clinical internships were with The Triangle Community Center and the Huneebee Project, and my capstone focused on treatment modalities for spiritual and religious abuse and trauma in the LGBTQAI+ community. I am a lifelong student of mindfulness and spiritual studies, having obtained my Reiki II certification and studied extensively with the Agape International Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, California.
Life can unpredictable and challenging through all its transitions and unexpected detours. You shouldn’t have to face these challenges alone. I am here to help you process trauma, develop new skills, and to find the joy in the journey. I look forward to meeting you!
