Jennifer is a Board certified Registered Art Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS), Certified Co-Occurring Disorder Professional and Certified Sexual Assault Counselor with the state of CT. Jennifer has been providing counseling treatment to the community in the mental health and addictions field for 30 years. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Albertus Magnus College and her Master’s in counseling and Art psychotherapy from the College of New Rochelle, NY and holds an additional Master’s in school counseling from Fairfield University.
Jennifer’s career as a psychotherapist has included a multitude of both direct care and leadership positions both as a clinician, clinical director and an educator. She has been an adjunct professor at Albertus Magnus College in the Graduate MAT program and been a guest lecture several times on Trauma informed CBT and substance use disorder treatment at the American Art Therapy Association’s national annual conferences.
Jennifer has held many roles as a primary clinician, clinical director and supervised many clinical programs including managing contracts with educational systems, community prevention and Police outreach with collaboration with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Dept. Of Corrections, Court Support Services, Dept. of Children and Families, SAMHSA, Crisis and Mobile services. Her experience with treating people with chronic mental health issues includes providing clinical supervision and internships for graduate students and associate licensed professionals. She specializes in addiction counseling, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, anxiety and depression in life transitions.
Her holistic counseling style is relaxed, casual and inviting. She incorporates mutual respect, sensitivity and compassion into her approach and is proficient in cognitive behavioral, humanistic and psychodynamic counseling theories. She is trained in EMDR and Acudetox, CBT, DBT and trauma informed treatment.
Jennifer welcomes a client focused dialog to address a treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. She believes that “happiness is an inside job” and enjoys helping people unlock their own healing journey in the process of therapy.
