As an experienced psychologist who specializes in working with adults coping with medical illness such as cancer and heart disease, I have helped many patients and families coping with anxiety, depression, uncertainty, and grief. I have extensive experience working in both the hospital outpatient oncology setting, as well as in cardiac care, but now focus exclusively on treating people in my private practice. I enjoy working with individuals either in person or via an easy-to-use telehealth platform. I am trained in cognitive behavioral and dialectal behavior therapy and use an integrated psychotherapeutic approach aimed at helping the individual cope effectively with the stressors that led them to seek therapy.
I have been in practice for nearly 30 years and have published books for mental health topics professionals about the psychological aspects of heart disease and cancer. I have also been featured as an expert on the American Psychological Association’s video psychotherapy series. You can learn more about my practice at https://ellenandersonphd.com/
